As a reminder please see the attached Merit Badge Preparation guide. Many Merit Badges require some homework before going to camp, please be sure to get this done!
a) Summer PLC - All of the Troop's newly elected officers should set aside the afternoon/early evening of Sunday Aug 23rd as they will put together the overarching plans for the upcoming Scouting year. All officers should try to attend, and our Patrol leaders and Senior Patrol Leader are expected to attend as this is partial to the responsibility of their new roles.
b) Maine High Adventure - The Crew will be practicing canoeing skills on July 18th, and head up on July 25th for a week long canoe tour of the remote wilderness of Maine. With nothing but grubs, fish they will hopefully catch, camp-supplied food, and more than 50 miles of paddling through rivers and lakes, they'll likely come back looking entirely different. Wish them luck!
c) Summer Camp - Aug 9th through Aug 16th. we should all have this set aside and know what to do. We will send out more information as we get closer, including suggested packing lists and so forth. Meanwhile, please contact Mr Shaji or myself with any questions.
d) Summer Committee Meeting - All parents and leaders interested to learn about and provide input to plans for the upcoming year, contribute to the Troop, or otherwise help the direction of the Troop - Please block the evening of Aug 6th. We encourage and hope all parents attend; more details (and plugs to attend) to follow.
