Hi Everyone,
A few announcements of upcoming events that we have planned;
1.) Sunday, February 6th from 9:00 – 12:00, Troop 42 will be assisting the Easton DPW and Fire Department in removing snow from fire hydrants. Plan on meeting at the DPW at 9:00 on Sunday morning. Please bring a shovel.
2.) Saturday, February 19th the Troop will leave from the Church parking lot at 6:30 and head to the Gold Rush at Camp Massasoit. Adults, please let me know if you can drive, as we have a large group attending this year and could use the help. Scout should remember to brush up on and study the basic Scouting skills…..as we have a friendly “wager” on this one.
3.) Please sign up for summer camp during the next couple of weeks if you are interested in attending. Summer Camp will be July 10th thru July 16th this year, and we are opening up sign-ups for both Camp Bell and Hidden Valley, and depending on Adult supervision and the number of Scouts signed up will attend one or both camps, so please sign up. To get the reduced rate for camp, a $50.00 deposit must be turned in by March 6th. Checks can be made out to Troop 42.

4.) The Troop outing for March will be March 18th thru 20th. Presently, we are planning on doing a weekend at Camp Squanto shooting off model rockets, if the interest is there. So once again, I urge the Scouts to sign up so that proper arrangements can be made.
5.) Reminder that full medical forms will be due for summer camp as well as the Personal Fitness Merit Badge. Please get them in as soon as possible.
6.) The Troop has started a sign-up sheet for those Scouts and adults interested in going to Gettysburg over Spring break. We should know about the campsite lottery this week, so we need to begin the planning and will need a realistic head count. Please sign up at Monday meeting if you are interested in attending this event.
7.) Please remember that MBU will be March 5th, 12th and 26th. More details on time to be provided at a later date. For those adults that have signed up for teaching a Merit Badge, I will be sending along the information for the mandatory “training” meeting being held in the next week or so at Southeastern Voc Tech.
8.) Please take a look at our Troop website, James Sullivan has done a great job keeping it up to date with all the information you might need. (www.troop42easton.com)
Please feel free to ask if you have any questions.
