Hi Everyone,
Mr. Peoples is available and working to organize an opportunity to “fly” a plane at the Norwood Airport this week. Although, not required to complete the Merit Badge, it is a good opportunity for the Scouts to try something new. If you are working on the Aviation Merit Badge and wish to “fly” this week, please e-mail me back and I will try and put you into groups of two or three.
As explained to me at the Airport tour, the flight is 1 ½ hours long and costs $149.00 (Total to be split). Best opportunity to actually fly is if two Scouts go and the plane is able to land during the 1 ½ hour flight so that the Scouts can switch seats, allowing each a change at the helm. Otherwise, they can all load in the plane in groups of three, and go for a ride with only one Scout riding shotgun with the pilot.
So, basically, please let me know your level of interest….yes or no, and availability and I will coordinate with Mr. Peoples to see if we can get those Scouts that want to “fly a plane” an opportunity.
